Most people that have made much difference in the world were once dabbed truants, rejects. At some point, some were completely written off as nonstarters. Despite their plight, they stood their ground and believed in themselves. They longed to be who they were created to be by doing what they loved most. They eventually made history by delivering to the world their original untainted inventions from the inside out. The beauty here is that their respective parents never gave up on their so called “unfit children”. The parents’ understanding attitude; the warmth, the embrace and guidance back home made all the difference to Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates just to mention a few.The irony is that most school drop outs for whatever reason, even today, are considered failures. Some are made to believe that they are outcasts.

My own daughter, Faith was once a notorious noise maker and a bully in her lower primary. At times she would refuse to go to school or drag her feet arriving late. It took a lot of patience and listening to understand her and her great teachers. Eventually,she opened up.”I know everything. There is nothing new! I get bored and talk to my friends”. A collective decision to move her one class higher solved the problem.Do greater minds conform or reform?
